I’m Darnell, FAA Part 107 Certified Drone Pilot and Mechanical Engineer, and owner of DD Drones LA.
I earned my Mechanical Engineering degree from Louisiana State University, where I also completed aerospace-related projects in collaboration with NASA-affiliated programs. These experiences gave me early exposure to high-reliability engineering environments and technical problem-solving in aerospace applications.
Professionally, I’ve worked as an engineer at Boeing, where I contributed to engineering projects in aerospace systems and was awarded a patent for an aerospace design. I later worked as a Manufacturing Engineer for Volvo Group, focusing on production systems, quality control, and industrial operations.
Across these roles, I developed a strong foundation in precision, safety, and data-driven decision-making—skills that directly translate to drone operations.
Through DD Drones LA, I provide aerial services including:

I’m especially interested in working with contractors, engineering firms, property managers, and industrial clients who need reliable aerial data for reporting, inspections, and decision-making.
